Retired and need to downsize. Help me downsize by choosing a Z-type Magnette you would like to have. I have a 1957 ZB (small rear window) and a 1959 ZB Varitone with the two tone paintwork and wrap-around rear window. Which would you like?
First, the 1957 ZB (small window) Magnette. A California car which was originally Island Green with Black interior and complete down to even the overhead clock. This is a matching numbers car with its original engine albeit a bit tired. The interior is complete though dried out by the California sun. The body is straight but does have some areas of rust. The floors front and rear are solid as well as the trunk. One unusual feature of this car is the full-height rear bumper with the license plate mounted on the rear trunk lid. I have not seen another bumper like it nor know from what car it may have come from.
Asking $2750 obo.
Second, is a 1959 ZB Varitone (now painted cream over maroon) Magnette. This car came to me from Portland, Oregon and was originally a monotone Steel Blue color with dark red interior. The dark red interior is original and complete and may be used in its present state. This ZB also has its original engine and all numbers match. The engine was rebuilt before I acquired it, but did not come with any substantiation. The engine and transmission run fine without any issues. The body is good for a Magnette and the front/rear and trunk floors are solid.
Asking $3500 obo.
They have only been driven in nice weather and kept out of the weather. Both cars are currently registered. Bellevue WA
